With unified communications, Bayer Business Services simplifies the handling of all communications services, e.g. by providing a standard PC front end for telephony, instant messaging, fax, SMS and conference services.
Bayer Business Services is working to advance such solutions and implement them in existing structures. Initial results are already deployed at the Bayer Group and used by countless employees, including the Lotus instant messaging tool “Sametime,” the “Click to dial” dialing interface and the ability to use Lotus Notes to send or receive faxes or text messages.

Unified communications is the result of the convergence of these services. The goal is to automatically contact a person using the best-suited service – fixed line, mobile phone, e-mail or Sametime.Bayer Business Services is conducting an international R&D project intended to soon provide customers with a global solution enabling them to optimally exploit the potential of unified communications in their business environment.
