Green-IT: energy efficiency workshopThe German Media Academy and TÜV Rheinland are offering a workshop on the more efficient use of energy. The event will focus on “green” potential in power generation, storage and distribution, as well as on ways to save energy with new devices and applications. A panel of experts will present the approaches and opportunities of various energy efficiency projects. One of the speakers will be Dr. Thomas Schilling, the coordinator of the Green IT initiative at Bayer Business Services, who will present his practical experience in this area.
The latest research competition by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), “IT2Green,” which promotes the development of energy-efficient information and communication technology, will also be presented.
The workshop, a follow-up to the Green IT Conference held in December 2009 by the Information, Communication and Technology Management (ICTM) Forum, will supplement and expand on the topics covered there.
